David MacDowell, 34, was arrested on Saturday, Aug. 24, after coming to the Bethel Police Department minutes after police had responded to a home on Plumtrees Road and discovered the woman suffering from several stab wounds, Bethel Police said.
The unidentified woman was transported to Danbury Hospital where she died from her wounds, the department said.
MacDowell was charged with manslaughter, pending a further investigation, police said.
He is being held on a $1 million bond.
Police are continuing the investigation and plan to release the identity of the woman once her family has been notified.
